Why Bangalore is called the silicon city of India ?

Bangalore is the capital city of Karnataka state of India. It is one of the major places in south India. The city is called the IT city or the Silicon City of India because of the major fact that it houses the head offices of almost the entire world’s leading IT companies.

The city is the major IT exporter in India and that’s why it has got one of the major reasons for being called the silicon valley of India.

Bangalore is a major economy hub with development taking place all around the city and thus is also being called one of the fastest growing metropolises in India and even world and that’s why many companies from outside country is investing in Bangalore.

Bangalore has moderate climate all around the year which is very pleasing especially for people frequenting it often entire all year. January is the coolest month while May is the hottest, other than these two months; the city enjoys a pleasant hill-station like climate for the other 10 months.

 The major attractions of Bangalore could be listed as Vidhaan Sudaa, Vikaas Saudha, Nandi Temple at Basavangudi, Lal Bagh Botanical Garden, Government Museum of Bangalore, Visvesvaraya Technological and Industrial Museum, Tipu Sultan’s Fort and Place, Venkataramaswamy Temple, Gavi Gangadharaveshwar Cave Temple, Someshwara Temple, Whitefield Ashram, ISCKON Temple, Bangalore Aashram of the Art of Living.

It is a common fact that Bangalore stations most of the IT Companies in the world, the city houses them in areas called as Software Technology Park of India (STPI), International Tech Park, Bangalore (ITPB), and Electronics City. And apart from that many Govt head office department is also located in Bangalore city only due to excellent infrastructure and now wonder why Bangalore is considered as Silicon City of India.

Various important public sector units like BEL, HAL, NAL, MTNL, BHEL, BEML and HMT and many other govt jobs stationed here. Bangalore could be reached from almost all parts of the country by Rail, Road, Air and Ship as well.

Overall, it’s a great place for staying and making it a home other than an important place in south India as well as the silicon valley of India.
