BJP’s Delhi unit chief Manoj Tiwari has said that the massive win in the MCD Elections is due to the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre. He has lauded the leadership of party chief Amit Shah and the hard work of BJP workers.

Manoj Tiwari said that the MCD elections were a referendum on Arvind Kejriwal’s government’s performance in Delhi. He said that the people of Delhi have used the right to recall on Kejriwal government by giving the verdict.

The BJP leader, in an interview to ABP News, promised that the BJP would change Delhi completely and will give a corruption-free governance in the three municipal bodies.

The BJP was leading in 180 seats, while the AAP was leading in 49 seats. The Congress party was leading in 28 seats.

The Aam Aadmi Party pinned the blame for its loss in the MCD Elections on EVMs. After BJP’s win became clear, AAP leaders–Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Gopal Rai– met to decide on the future course of action. After the meeting, Gopal Rai addressed the media and continued the tirade, started by Arvind Kejriwal, against EVMs.

He said it was not the Modi wave that got the Bharatiya Janata Party to win in the MCD polls, but it was the EVM wave that won the elections for the BJP.

Meanwhile, party MLA Alka Lamba has offered to resign for the loss in her assembly constituency.
