Kapil Mishra attacked by AAP supporter, dissident leader says won’t retaliate

Sacked Aam Aadmi Party minister, Kapil Mishra was on Wednesday attacked by a youth in Delhi. The young man, identified as Ankit Bhardwaj claims to be a supporter of the AAP, initial reports said. He has been taken into police custody.Reacting on the attempted assault, Kapil Mishra said he would not retaliate even when attacked. He also appealed to his supporters not to lose their cool and resort to violence.
According to initial reports, Ankit is an AAP volunteer and was miffed with Mishra for levelling charges of corruption on Arvind Kejriwal. He has claimed that he came from Mundka. He almost reached the neck of the dissident AAP leader. However, he was stopped by Kapil Mishra’s supporters before he could assault him. Police are reportedly trying to find out the antecedents of the man. He was heard screaming that he was from the Aam Aadmi Party.
Kapil Mishra was sitting on a dharna when he was attacked. He began his hunger strike on Wednesday at his home in Delhi. He had demanded that Chief Arvind Kejriwal should reveal the sources who funded foreign trips of five AAP leaders in the last two years. Mishra had alleged that there was a threat to his life. He said he had been getting threats to his life from international numbers. “I got the call from an international number, but I didn’t respond to that, then I received a death threat on a Whatsapp message,” he said.
Kapil Mishra had alleged that he saw Arvind Kejriwal accepting Rs 2 crore from health minister Satyendra Jain at his residence. He also questioned the alleged frequent foreign travails by AAP leaders. He is sitting on a ‘satyagraha’, saying he would be on a hunger strike until the AAP replies.
