Delhi Metro train evacuated at Rajiv Chowk station after minor smoke
Minor smoke was reported from an air-conditioner of a Delhi Metro train at Rajiv Chowk metro station in Connaught Place on Wednesday. An official of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said that initial reports came in at 10:22 AM that smoke and spark were noticed on a train at Central Secretariat.
All the passengers evacuated the train and were accommodated in the next train.
According to Hindustan Times, another spark appeared when the train chugged in, which was followed by a minor blast in the rear part of the train. The DMRC said there was a short circuit but the incident is being probed.
The train has been sent to depot for further analysis and investigation is on.
Service were disrupted on the Yellow Line for some time and normal operations resumed at 11 AM.
