Book AirAsia flight tickets and get 15% discount this month if you are a Jio user
Reliance Jio-AirAsia New Offer
After waging a data war with incumbent telecom operators by offering 4G data at affordable prices, the new entrant in the telecom sector, Reliance Jio now sets its eye on providing lucrative offers for its active Jio subscribers.
As per a recent news update, Reliance Jio active subscribers will be getting a slew of benefits and discounts on air fares. AirAsia, the Malaysia-based airline said it will offer a 15% discount to all customers of Reliance Jio. This means that more than 72 million subscribers of Reliance Jio Infocomm (Jio) can avail this discount on their domestic and international travel on Air Asia.
Under this offer, the Jio subscribers can avail this discount using the Air Asia’s mobile app. The users can book tickets for a travel period starting from June 20, 2017 until September 30, 2017. The one of its kind offer can only be availed using the AirAsia app.
“All Reliance Jio customers get 15% off on domestic and international flights,” the airline was quoted by Ultra News. The bookings can be done only for flights operated by the company’s India, Thailand and main units, and not the other group entities such as those in Indonesia and Philippines; the airline was reported saying.
The report further said that the flights carry the IATA codes I5, AK or FD. It is not new that airlines offer steep discounts, but an airline offering low fare for Jio subscribers is something that has created a buzz. The biggest advantage over its incumbent rivals is that Reliance Jio offers free nationwide roaming on Jio services and plans.
Malaysia-based airline AirAsia offers:
- 15% off on domestic & International flights
- The booking period starts from 17th April 2017 to 30 April 2017
- The travel period starts from 20th June 2017 to 30th September 2017
- The offer can only be availed on AirAsia mobile App.
Air Asia was recently in news for offering flights to Thailand for less than Rs 4,000, and to Australia for Rs 13,222. In a major development, AirAsia India which is a joint venture between Tata Sons and AirAsia launched its first flight from Kolkata and Ranchi as a part of its continued expansion on Saturday. The carrier will connect Kolkata-Ranchi and Ranchi-New Delhi with double daily flights and plans to hire local talent across posts, both on-ground and in-flight from these two cities.
The Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio saga has rattled the telecom industry as the rival operators Vodafone, Airtel and Idea scramble to acquire and retain users by offering discounts and freebies. The heavily discounted pricing of Jio plans coupled with good network coverage and data speeds has given the network a competitive edge over other telecom operators. As per a CLSA report, Jio has led to major revenue dips for Indian telecom networks for the first time since 2009.
The company has enrolled over 150 million customers during its testing phase and has managed to retain over 50% of those users after switching to paid services. Air Asia, the Malaysia-based airline has recently been more aggressive with its discounts and offers and has run into strong competition in India as compared to other major airlines. It operates from South Indian cities, Delhi and other prominent airports in India.
