The early morning shows of the much-awaited Baahubali 2: The Conclusion were cancelled at many major theatres in Chennai and other cities in Tamil Nadu on Friday. While some reports say the producers did not give clearance to the distributors to screen the film before 11 am, reports also say that the theatres did not have due permission to go ahead with an early morning show. An ANI report quotes the Chennai police as saying that the shows were cancelled as the theatres had no permission.
Reports say that financial settlement between the distributors and producers of Baahubali 2 Tamil is yet to be settled. The fans in and outside Chennai were disappointed as they had queued up outside theatres since the wee hours of morning. While the tickets of the movie-goers were refunded, the fans hoped to watch the movie in the later shows after 11 am.
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has released in theatres across the country on Friday, April 28. reports say that the film has earned Rs 500 crore in the premieres itself before the formal release.
Earlier this month, Baahubali 2 had gone into trouble in Karnataka too. Kannada activists had threatened to delay the film’s release if actor Sathyaraj, who plays the role of Katappa, didn’t apologise for his remarks against Kannadigas that he made nine years ago. It was only after Sathyaraj apologised for his remark that the Kannada activists withdrew their protests, letting Baahubali 2 release in Karnataka.
